Rocky Mountain National Park

Early Spring at Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Wow!  What a spectacular drive in Colorado! Approaching the park from Granby, I was able to hit the park for the evening light and it was spectacular. One week before the park closes for the winter, I was able to capture some amazing elk grazing on the alpine tundra. With the 100mm-400mm Canon lens on my 7D Canon body, I kept my distance, and was able to get close up shots of the elk interacting with each other. Unfortunately, other people taking pictures with their phones and Ipads, resulted in disturbing the animals. The closer the people moved, the further the animals moved, eventually it was butt shots! lol. All in all I am so please with these images I am sharing with you. I hope you enjoy them.
